{"id":1597,"date":"2017-07-09T05:25:26","date_gmt":"2017-07-09T05:25:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/leadinghorsestowater.net\/?p=1597"},"modified":"2017-07-15T03:25:07","modified_gmt":"2017-07-15T03:25:07","slug":"absent-from-the-body-present-with-the-lord","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadinghorsestowater.net\/?p=1597","title":{"rendered":"Absent From the Body &#8211; Present With the Lord"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>According to Vine&#8217;s Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words, <em>thanatos, &#8220;death&#8221; <\/em>(as a noun)<em> is used in Scripture of: (a) the separation of the soul (the spiritual part of man) from the body (the material part), the latter ceasing to function and turning to dust,&#8230;&#8230;(b) the separation of man from God; Adam died on the day he disobeyed God, Gen. 2:17, and hence all mankind are born in the same spiritual condition, Rom. 5:12, 14, 17, 21, from which, however, those who believe in Christ are delivered, John 5:24; I John 3:14. \u00a0&#8220;Death&#8221; is the opposite of life; it never denotes nonexistence. \u00a0As spiritual life is &#8220;conscious existence in communion with God,&#8221; so spiritual &#8220;death&#8221; is &#8220;conscious existence in separation from God.&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Physical death is the separation of the soul or spirit from the body. \u00a0What does physical death hold for the Christian believer? \u00a0The apostle Paul declares;\u00a0<em>We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<strong><em>absent\u00a0from\u00a0the\u00a0body, and to be present with<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<strong><em>the\u00a0Lo<\/em><em>rd. \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><strong>2 Corinthians 5:8<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Are you a Christian believer?
