{"id":1915,"date":"2018-04-07T16:54:49","date_gmt":"2018-04-07T16:54:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/leadinghorsestowater.net\/?p=1915"},"modified":"2023-09-16T23:59:35","modified_gmt":"2023-09-16T23:59:35","slug":"what-do-you-mean-by-that","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadinghorsestowater.net\/?p=1915","title":{"rendered":"What Do You Mean By That?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Have you ever said <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Good<\/span> Morning<\/em>\u00a0to someone, only to have them reply suspiciously;<em> what do you mean by that<\/em>?\u00a0 Whenever it happens, it is always a good laugh. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>On the other hand, when engaging someone in a conversation about spiritual things, people often respond; <em>I am a Christian<\/em>.\u00a0 This would be a good time to ask seriously; <em>what do you mean by that,<\/em>\u00a0w<em>hat do you mean when you say; I am a Christian<\/em>?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Regardless their response to the question, a follow up for the believer can be; T<em>his is what I mean when I say, I claim to be a Christian:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><em>\u00a0 I am a poor lost sinner who deserves hell.\u00a0 There is nothing I can do to make my heart clean.\u00a0 I am trusting Jesus Christ as my only hope of salvation and you can hold me accountable to anything Scripture says.\u00a0 Is this what <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">you<\/span> mean when you say; I am a Christian?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Anyone can say I believe (the demons believe and tremble), but few are willing to be held accountable.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Note: The evidence of salvation, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not the cause of it<\/span>, is obedience to the Word of God.\u00a0 What is lacking today in those who profess to be Christians is confidence in and obedience to the Bible.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>&#8230;&#8230;let the word of Christ dwell in you richly&#8230;&#8230;.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Have you ever said Good Morning\u00a0to someone, only to have them reply suspiciously; what do you mean by that?\u00a0 Whenever it happens, it is always a good laugh.
