Throughout Scripture, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Messiah Jesus, there is a consistent thread of warnings against the shedding of innocent blood.\u00a0 These warnings are accompanied with consequences for shedding innocent blood.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Surely at the commandment of the LORD came\u00a0this\u00a0upon Judah, to remove\u00a0them\u00a0out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did;\u00a0<\/em>And also for the\u00a0innocent\u00a0blood\u00a0that he shed<\/span>: for he filled Jerusalem with\u00a0innocent\u00a0blood;<\/span> which the LORD would not pardon.<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/em> II Kings 24:3 & 4<\/p>\n

Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>And shed\u00a0innocent\u00a0blood,<\/span> even the\u00a0blood\u00a0of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with\u00a0blood.<\/span> <\/em>Psalms 106:38<\/strong><\/p>\n

If thou shalt keep all these commandments to do them, which I command thee this day, to love the LORD thy God, and to walk ever in his ways; then shalt thou add three cities more for thee, beside these three:\u00a0<\/em>That innocent blood be not shed in thy land,<\/span> which the LORD thy God giveth thee\u00a0for\u00a0an inheritance, and\u00a0so\u00a0blood be upon thee.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/em>But if any man hate his neighbor, and lie in wait for him, and rise up against him, and smite him mortally that he die, and fleeth into one of these cities:\u00a0<\/em>Then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him thence, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>Thine eye shall not pity him, but thou shalt put away\u00a0the guilt of\u00a0<\/span><\/em>innocent blood from Israel, that it may go well with thee.<\/span>\u00a0<\/em>Deuteronomy 19:9-13<\/p>\n

Be merciful, O LORD,<\/span> unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not\u00a0innocent\u00a0blood\u00a0unto thy people of Israel’s charge.<\/span>\u00a0 And the\u00a0blood\u00a0shall be forgiven them.<\/em> Deuteronomy 21:8<\/strong><\/p>\n

My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for\u00a0blood<\/span>, let us lurk privily for the\u00a0innocent without cause<\/span>:<\/em> Proverbs 1:10 & 11<\/p>\n

Judas Iscariot speaking: Saying, I have sinned<\/span> in that I have betrayed the\u00a0innocent\u00a0blood.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0And they said, What is that to us?\u00a0 See thou to that.<\/em> Matthew 27:4<\/strong><\/p>\n

They gather themselves together<\/span> against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the\u00a0innocent\u00a0blood<\/span>.<\/em> Psalms 94:21<\/p>\n

These six\u00a0things\u00a0doth the LORD hate: yea, seven\u00a0are\u00a0an abomination unto him:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,<\/span>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, <\/em>Proverbs 6:16,17 & 18<\/strong><\/p>\n

If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not\u00a0innocent blood\u00a0in this place<\/span>, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: <\/em>Jeremiah 7:6<\/p>\n

And the king said unto him, Do as he hath said, and fall upon him, and bury him; that thou mayest take away the\u00a0innocent\u00a0blood, which Joab shed,<\/span> from me, and from the house of my father. <\/em>I Kings 2:31<\/strong><\/p>\n

E<\/em>gypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, <\/em>because they have shed\u00a0innocent\u00a0blood\u00a0in their land.<\/span> <\/em>Joel 3:19<\/p>\n

Moreover Manasseh shed\u00a0innocent\u00a0blood\u00a0very much<\/span>, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of the LORD<\/span>.<\/em> II Kings 21:16<\/strong><\/p>\n

But know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring\u00a0innocent blood\u00a0upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof:<\/span> for of a truth the LORD hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.<\/em> Jeremiah 26:15<\/p>\n

But thine eyes and thine heart are<\/span> not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed\u00a0innocent\u00a0blood,<\/span> and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.<\/span> <\/em>Jeremiah 22:17<\/strong><\/p>\n

Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed\u00a0innocent\u00a0blood:<\/span> their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.<\/em> Isaiah 59:7<\/p>\n

Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong,<\/span> do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed\u00a0innocent\u00a0blood\u00a0in this place.<\/span> <\/em>Jeremiah 22:3<\/strong><\/p>\n

For he did put his life in his hand, and slew the Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great salvation for all Israel: thou sawest it, and didst rejoice: wherefore then wilt thou sin against\u00a0innocent\u00a0blood, to slay David without a cause?<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>I Samuel 19:5<\/p>\n

So shalt thou put away the guilt of\u00a0innocent\u00a0blood\u00a0from among you, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the LORD.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>Deuteronomy 21:9<\/strong><\/p>\n

When\u00a0Pilate\u00a0saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and\u00a0washed\u00a0his\u00a0hands<\/span>\u00a0before the multitude,\u00a0saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person:<\/span> see ye to it.<\/em>\u00a0 Matthew 27:24<\/p>\n

Let’s put the shedding of innocent blood into perspective.\u00a0 Hitler killed six million innocent Jews;\u00a0 Stalin slaughtered twenty million of his fellow Russians; and the United States of America has terminated the lives of nearly sixty million innocent defenseless human babies in their mother’s womb.\u00a0 Aren’t we something?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The DNA of that baby in the womb at conception is not the DNA of a dog or a cat.\u00a0 It is the DNA of a human being. The only difference between the baby in the womb and any other human being outside the womb is the degree of development.\u00a0 Would you kill a child because that child has not developed into an adult?<\/p>\n

I believe that God’s judgment for the shedding of innocent blood\u00a0 is already upon our country.\u00a0 God will give those up who continually resist Him.\u00a0 At some point the Holy Spirit will stop striving with men and women who continually resist His convicting power.\u00a0 God can and will give them up\u00a0to do or be whatever it is that their wicked heart desires.\u00a0 The evidence\u00a0 of this condition is clear today.\u00a0 As a nation, we are no longer able to define what is morally correct.\u00a0 As a nation we are losing the ability to discern right from wrong.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Repentance is the only thing that can turn God away from judgment.\u00a0 Repentance is a changing of the mind.\u00a0 The changing of the mind results in a change of direction.<\/p>\n
