Jesus is instructing His disciples on how to pray in Matthew 6.<\/p>\n
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come.\u00a0Thy will be done\u00a0in earth, as it is in heaven.\u00a0 Give us this day our daily bread….<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread<\/em><\/p>\n The daily bread asked for here is daily spiritual sustenance.\u00a0 It is not food and drink.\u00a0 After instructing His disciples on how to pray, the Lord says the following within the same context of Matthew 6.<\/strong><\/p>\n Therefore<\/span> I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n W<\/span>hich of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n And why take ye thought for raiment?
