Ephesians 1:3 – 23<\/strong><\/p>\n

Blessed be\u00a0the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly\u00a0places\u00a0in Christ: a<\/strong><\/em>ccording as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: h<\/strong><\/em>aving predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, t<\/em>o the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

In whom we have<\/strong> redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; w<\/em>herein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; h<\/em>aving made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: t<\/em>hat in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth;\u00a0even\u00a0in him:<\/em><\/p>\n

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: t<\/strong><\/em>hat we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

In whom <\/strong>ye also\u00a0trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, w<\/em>hich is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.<\/em><\/p>\n

Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, c<\/strong><\/em>ease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; t<\/strong><\/em>hat the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know<\/strong> what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, a<\/em>nd what\u00a0is\u00a0the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, w<\/strong><\/em>hich he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead,<\/strong> and set\u00a0him\u00a0at his own right hand in the heavenly\u00a0places, f<\/em>ar above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: a<\/em>nd hath put all\u00a0things\u00a0under his feet, and gave him\u00a0to be\u00a0the head over all\u00a0things\u00a0to the church; w<\/em>hich is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.<\/em><\/p>\n

Chapter 2<\/strong><\/p>\n

And you\u00a0hath he quickened (made alive), who were dead in trespasses and sins; w<\/strong><\/em>herein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: a<\/strong><\/em>mong whom also we all had our conversation <\/strong><\/em>(manner of life)<\/strong> in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

But God,<\/strong> who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, e<\/em>ven when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ,<\/strong> (by grace ye are saved;) a<\/strong><\/em>nd hath raised\u00a0us\u00a0up together,<\/strong> and made\u00a0us\u00a0sit together in heavenly\u00a0places\u00a0in Christ Jesus:<\/strong> t<\/em>hat in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in\u00a0his\u00a0kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.<\/em><\/p>\n

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:\u00a0it is\u00a0the gift of God: n<\/strong><\/em>ot of works, lest any man should boast.\u00a0 <\/strong>F<\/em>or we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.\u00a0 W<\/strong><\/em>herefore remember, that ye\u00a0being\u00a0in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; t<\/strong><\/em>hat at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

But now<\/strong> in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition\u00a0between us; h<\/em>aving abolished in his flesh the enmity,\u00a0even\u00a0the law of commandments\u00a0contained\u00a0in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man,\u00a0so\u00a0making peace; a<\/em>nd that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: a<\/em>nd came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.<\/em><\/p>\n

Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; a<\/strong><\/em>nd are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner\u00a0stone; <\/strong>i<\/em>n whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: <\/strong>i<\/em>n whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Chapter 3<\/strong><\/p>\n

For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, if ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: how that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

That the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.\u00a0 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; and to make all\u00a0men\u00a0see what\u00a0is\u00a0the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly\u00a0places\u00a0might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, according to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: in whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.<\/em><\/p>\n

Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.\u00a0 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what\u00a0is\u00a0the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ*, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Now unto him<\/strong> that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him<\/strong>\u00a0be\u00a0glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.<\/em><\/p>\n

*Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0shall\u00a0tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?\u00a0 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.\u00a0 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.<\/em><\/p>\n

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n
