Isaiah 53:1-12<\/strong><\/p>\n

Who hath believed our report? (Is anyone listening?) and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?\u00a0 (Has He chosen to reveal Himself to you?)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.<\/em><\/p>\n

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Surely he hath borne our<\/strong> griefs, and carried our<\/strong> sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.<\/em><\/p>\n

But he was wounded for <\/strong>our transgressions, he was bruised for <\/strong>our iniquities: the chastisement of <\/strong>our peace was upon him; and with his stripes <\/strong>we are healed.<\/em><\/p>\n

All we<\/strong> like sheep have gone astray<\/strong>; we have turned every one to his own way<\/strong>; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin<\/strong>, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.<\/em><\/p>\n

He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; <\/strong>for he shall bear their iniquities.<\/em><\/p>\n

Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried\u00a0him\u00a0away, and delivered\u00a0him\u00a0to Pilate.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him,\u00a0Thou sayest\u00a0it<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/em>And the chief priests accused him of many things: <\/em>but he answered nothing.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Now at\u00a0that\u00a0feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they desired.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>And there was\u00a0one\u00a0named Barabbas,\u00a0which lay\u00a0bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.<\/em><\/p>\n

And the multitude crying aloud began to desire\u00a0him to do\u00a0as he had ever done unto them.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do\u00a0unto him\u00a0whom ye call the King of the Jews?<\/em><\/p>\n

And they cried out again, Crucify him!\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Then Pilate said unto them, <\/em><\/strong>Why, what evil hath he done?<\/em> And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

And\u00a0so\u00a0Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged\u00a0him, to be crucified.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together the whole band.<\/em><\/p>\n

And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his\u00a0head,\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing\u00a0their\u00a0knees worshipped him.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.<\/em><\/p>\n

And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received\u00a0it\u00a0not.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.<\/em><\/p>\n

And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left.<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, <\/em><\/strong>And he was numbered with the transgressors.<\/em><\/p>\n

And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest\u00a0it\u00a0in three days,\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Save thyself, and come down from the cross.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. <\/em><\/strong>And they that were crucified with him reviled him.<\/em><\/p>\n

And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying,\u00a0Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?<\/span>\u00a0which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?<\/em><\/p>\n

And some of them that stood by, when they heard\u00a0it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put\u00a0it\u00a0on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.<\/em><\/p>\n

And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

[Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what\u00a0is\u00a0his name, and what\u00a0is\u00a0his son’s name, if thou canst tell?<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<\/strong> Proverbs 30:4]<\/p>\n

There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;\u00a0<\/em>(Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,\u00a0<\/em>Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling\u00a0unto him\u00a0the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>And when he knew\u00a0it\u00a0of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

And Mary Magdalene and Mary\u00a0the mother\u00a0of Joses beheld where he was laid.<\/em><\/p>\n

Mark 16:1-6<\/strong><\/p>\n

And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the\u00a0mother\u00a0of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.<\/em><\/p>\n

And very early in the morning the first\u00a0day\u00a0of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.<\/em><\/p>\n

And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified:<\/strong>\u00a0he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
