But when\u00a0they\u00a0believed\u00a0Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God,\u00a0and\u00a0the name of Jesus Christ,\u00a0they\u00a0were\u00a0baptized, both men\u00a0and\u00a0women.\u00a0<\/em> Acts 8:12<\/strong><\/p>\n

And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.<\/em><\/p>\n

And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, was returning, and sitting in his chariot reading Esaias the prophet.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.\u00a0 And Philip ran thither to\u00a0him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me?\u00a0 And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.<\/em><\/p>\n

The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:\u00a0In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?\u00a0 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.<\/em><\/p>\n

And as they went on\u00a0their\u00a0way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See,\u00a0here is\u00a0water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?\u00a0 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest.\u00a0 And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.\u00a0 \u00a0And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the wat<\/em>er, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Acts 8:26-38<\/strong><\/p>\n

And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard\u00a0us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.\u00a0 And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought\u00a0us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide\u00a0there.\u00a0 And she constrained us.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/em> \u00a0Acts 16:14&15<\/p>\n

And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.<\/em><\/p>\n

And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed\u00a0their\u00a0stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Acts 16:27-33<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

And\u00a0Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue,\u00a0believed\u00a0on the Lord with all his house;\u00a0and\u00a0many of the Corinthians hearing\u00a0believed,\u00a0and\u00a0were\u00a0baptized.\u00a0<\/em> Acts 18:8<\/p>\n

In Scripture, the candidate for baptism is always an individual who is able to comprehend his\/her own need for a Saviour. \u00a0This is one who is able to make a\u00a0 responsible decision concerning who Jesus Christ is and how He died, was buried, and rose again. \u00a0This is one who has confessed his faith in Christ alone for his\/her salvation as a result of hearing the Word of God preached and taught.<\/strong><\/p>\n

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.<\/em><\/p>\n

For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.<\/em><\/p>\n

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.\u00a0 Romans 10:9-13<\/em><\/p>\n

Believest thou this?\u00a0 Now you are ready to\u00a0 be baptized.<\/strong><\/p>\n
