{"id":3910,"date":"2022-05-02T00:55:17","date_gmt":"2022-05-02T00:55:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/leadinghorsestowater.net\/?p=3910"},"modified":"2022-06-12T12:57:25","modified_gmt":"2022-06-12T12:57:25","slug":"keep-your-eyes-on-christ","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leadinghorsestowater.net\/?p=3910","title":{"rendered":"Keep Your Eyes on Christ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Keep your eyes on the ball,\u00a0<\/em>a coach yells to a batter and a golf pro to his student, <em>because you will never hit the ball until you learn to keep your eyes fastened on it!<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>And so the apostle Paul writes to the Galatians; k<em>eep your eyes on Jesus Christ.\u00a0 <\/em>He<em>\u00a0<\/em>knew\u00a0 very well what he was writing about since that day\u00a0 on the Damascus Road, when he lifted his eyes to behold the blinding glory of his Saviour. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">False teachers had crept in and diverted the Galatian&#8217;s eyes unto the Law and their own fleshly works of righteousness.\u00a0 Paul writes to correct their vision.\u00a0 In chapter one of Galatians he marvels that they are so soon removed from Christ.\u00a0 In chapter three he questions their ability to see at all.\u00a0 <em>O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Paul looked ever upward.\u00a0 <em>I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus<\/em> (Phil.3:14).\u00a0 Paul looked unto the cross.\u00a0 <em>But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ<\/em> (Gal.6:14a).\u00a0 Paul looked unto Christ.\u00a0 <em>Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith<\/em> (Heb.12:2a).\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.\u00a0<\/em> Galatians 2:16<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>&#8230;let the word of Christ dwell (take up its life) in you richly&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Keep your eyes on the ball,\u00a0a coach yells to a batter and a golf pro to his student, because you will never hit the ball until you learn to keep your eyes fastened on it!
