Years ago, Walt Disney produced a series of Herbie<\/em> movies. There is a scene in one of those movies that is etched into my memory. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Herbie, the car, \u00a0has the young lady locked in and won’t let her out. She is banging on the window and yelling Help! Help!\u00a0Let me out!<\/em><\/p>\n

In the vehicle next to Herbie<\/em> is a hippie. \u00a0He turns, looks, and listens to her pleas for a moment and then says……to no one in particular;……….We all locked up!<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

He may have been onto something!<\/p>\n

Have you ever thought of time as a created thing? \u00a0We often refer to the beginning and the end, but have we ever considered what was before time began, and what will be, when it ends?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are creatures of time and the physical and we are also, in this world, prisoners of time and the physical. \u00a0We are focused solely on what has happened, what is happening, and what will be happening as it relates to ourselves within the confines of time. \u00a0To the human race, it is all about us, but in reality it is all about God.<\/p>\n

God is not bound by the limits of time nor by the boundaries of the universe. \u00a0He has always been and He will always be. \u00a0Time and the physical are His creations and the universe, as we know it, is His footstool. \u00a0We exist at His good pleasure.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When a person dies, something leaves the body. \u00a0When observing a deceased individual (his\/her body), one can’t help but conclude that that individual’s spirit has departed. \u00a0The person is gone. \u00a0Where did they go? \u00a0Where are they now?<\/p>\n

What are we? \u00a0Are we just a body, whose person (spirit) vanishes like a vapor when the body wears out and quits? \u00a0Or are we really a spirit bound (locked up) in a body but released into eternity when the physical body dies? \u00a0What is God’s plan?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Bible says that God is a spirit and they that worship Him, must worship Him in spirit and in truth. \u00a0The Bible also says that man is made in the image of God. \u00a0How can that be, seeing that God is a spirit?<\/p>\n

Could it be that being made in the image of God pertains to our intellect, our will, our ability to discern right from wrong ; all of the invisible characteristics of our inward being or spirit?<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the Scriptures, humans are not like the animals that perish. \u00a0We are eternal beings. \u00a0We are going to live somewhere forever when we leave this body. \u00a0Will it be with our Creator or will He have us?<\/p>\n

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.\u00a0<\/em> John 17:3.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
