Softly and Tenderly

Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling for you and for me;
See, on the portals He’s waiting and watching,
Watching for you and for me.

Refrain:
Come home, come home,
You who are weary, come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
Calling, O sinner, come home!

Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading,
Pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not His mercies,
Mercies for you and for me?

Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing,
Passing from you and from me;
Shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming,
Coming for you and for me.

Oh, for the wonderful love He has promised,
Promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, He has mercy and pardon,
Pardon for you and for me.

The Wages of Sin

The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin. Deuteronomy 24:16

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

The Uniqueness of Jesus the Messiah

How do you view Jesus the Christ?

Is He just another member of the team helping people get to heaven?

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

In your view does He just stand shoulder to shoulder with all other gods/religions? Are you fine with all other religions as long as they are sincere?

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:12

Does your religion encourage you to pray to and through anyone else other than Jesus Christ?

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; I Timothy 2:5

Are you part of a “secret” organization that encourages belief in God regardless of what faith is embraced? Do you consider those other members your brothers? Are you expected to accord those “brothers” special recognition and/or favor?

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? I Corinthians 6:14

If you answered “yes” to any of the questions above, did you know that you have denied the clear teaching of Scripture? To deny the clear teaching of Scripture is a manifestation of unbelief. Unbelief makes God a liar.

Does this cut your heart? What should you do? Repent – change your mind. Believe – take God at His Word. Obey – humble yourself and submit to HIm.

But as many as received Him (Jesus Christ), to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them who believe on His name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:12 & 13

The High Cost of Sin

Sin will take you farther than you want to go. Sin will keep you longer than you want to stay. Sin will cost you more than you want to pay.

Job

If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, Thou art my confidence; If I rejoiced because my wealth was great, and because mine hand had gotten much;

If I beheld the sun when it shined, or the moon walking in brightness;
And my heart hath been secretly enticed, or my mouth hath kissed my hand:

This also were an iniquity to be punished by the judge: for I should have denied the God that is above. Job 31:24-28
