Let God Be True!

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. I John 1:5-10

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. I John 2:1-6

I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: I John2:21-23a

If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also. I John 4:20-21

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:8

If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. I John 5:9-13

I Know Whom I Have Believed

I know not why God’s wondrous grace
To me He hath made known,
Nor why, unworthy, Christ in love
Redeemed me for His own.


Refrain:
But “I know Whom I have believed,
And am persuaded that He is able

I know not how this saving faith
To me He did impart,
Nor how believing in His Word
Wrought peace within my heart.


I know not how the Spirit moves,
Convincing men of sin,
Revealing Jesus through the Word,
Creating faith in Him.

Love Not The World

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world, the lust (strong desire) of the flesh, and the lust (strong desire) of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

And the world passeth away, and the lust (strong desire) thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth (continues) for ever. I John 2:15-17

To Be Declared Righteous and Acquitted

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

And such were some of you: but ye are washed (cleansed), but ye are sanctified (set apart), but ye are justified (declared righteous & acquitted) in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. I Corinthians 6:9-11

Declared righteous – to render just or innocent.

Acquit – to be freed from a verdict of guilty.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. II Corinthians 5:17

…go thy way and sin no more…

The Remedy

Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; though they join forces (hands), none will go unpunished. Proverbs 16:5.

The false prophets in Israel always told the king what they thought he wanted to hear. True prophets were accused of troubling Israel, but in reality it was the sins of Israel that brought them trouble. America is not Israel, but America’s problems are the same.

America has a heart problem. Actions and words originate in the heart. The remedy for our country is not to elect a pastor as president. The remedy is for individuals to get right with God. I’m not talking about city wide revivals or Christian rock concerts. I’m talking about individuals getting alone with God and doing business with Him.

It begins with repentance which is a changing of the mind which leads to a turning or change of direction. This is an agreement with God, not about one’s neighbor or fellow worker, but about one’s own spiritual bankruptcy. Conversion needs to follow repentance.

The word for being converted means more than turning away. It carries with it the idea of turning to something or someone. We are to turn from our sin unto God. We are to side with God against ourselves, which brings us face to face with His Son, Jesus Christ who only can save us from our sin.

If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (II Cor. 5:17) Through Christ we individually receive the righteousness of God. A righteous people will bring moral change.
