Jesus instructed His disciples to pray for the will of God: After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. (Matt 6:9&10).
The apostle Paul further instructs; And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Romans 12:2).
Are you following God’s will according to what He has clearly stated in Scripture?
I Thessalonians 4:3-8 Abstain from fornication (sexual immorality); For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: That no man go beyond and defraud* his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified. For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.
I Peter 2:13-16 Submit to every ordinance of man; Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
I Thessalonians 5:18 In (not for) everything give thanks; In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
*Defraud – to stir up a desire in someone that cannot be Scripturally fulfilled (I Thessalonians 4:6).
…let the word of Christ (Messiah) dwell (take up its life) in you richly…
Note: God’s will for unbelievers: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (II Peter 3:9).
